How Will You Thank Your Wedding Party? 10 Ideas To Show Gratitude
Did you know that the average bridesmaid spends around $1,500 dollars just to be a part of your day? And that is the average (we all know it can be much more or much less depending on the circumstances). Little things like travel costs, wedding presents, bridal showers, bachelorette parties, bridesmaids dresses, alterations, etc. can add up quickly, costing your maids a pretty penny. Groomsmen also spend quite a bit on bachelor festivities, travel expenses, and tuxedo rentals.
Not only does your wedding party spend a lot of money to be a part of your wedding, but they also dedicate a great deal of time and energy to make your day special. Your besties do this out of love and excitement for you, and if you asked any one of them I am sure they would tell you that they are thrilled to do it! This is the reason why it is important to thank them in some way for the time, money, and energy they spend to make your wedding special.
I have compiled some ideas for thanking your bridesmaids and groomsmen, and I would be interested to hear how you thanked or are planning on thanking yours in the comments below!
Bridesmaids:
Gift them with a robe that they can wear while getting ready on your wedding morning! This one is nothing new, and there is a reason why it is tried and true. They are super comfy and stylish for lounging around on your wedding morning, and they make great travel robes for after your wedding! Our favorites are from Plum Pretty Sugar.
Give your ladies a piece of jewelry that they can wear on the wedding day. Pretty earrings or necklaces that they will be able to wear after the wedding as well are much appreciated! These don’t have to all be the same – in fact, I love it when brides give each bridesmaid a personalized gift.
Gifting your gals with nice home goods is always a great choice – fancy candles, soft throws, potted plants or succulents in pretty vessels, photo frames, etc. all make very thoughtful gifts.
Throw a bridesmaids luncheon! Hosting a luncheon or a brunch is a great opportunity to celebrate your gals before the big day.
Take your squad to get manicures and pedicures, or other spa treatments. Who doesn’t love a good massage? Pamper them for all of the time they spent pampering you! If your budget doesn’t allow for a full spa treatment, create a little “spa kit” with a face mask, scrub, etc. so they can relax post-wedding.
Groomsmen:
Giving your guys a nice bottle of their favorite spirit is always much appreciated. Present them with a nice bottle of bourbon, scotch, gin, etc. depending on their preference. If you want to get extra crafty, you can arrange the bottle with the mixers needed to whip up their favorite beverage.
Men love receiving new formal attire – if you can give them a nice tie or a custom pair of cufflinks, they don’t have to go shopping for those items the next time they have to dress up. You have accomplished the goal of sprucing them up for your big day and making their next formal event that much easier.
Take your groomsmen to a round of golf during your wedding weekend. Your guys will love getting outside in a casual setting and having fun with you before the festivities begin.
Gift them with custom money clips, flasks, cigar cutters, suspenders, or other novelty items that they wouldn’t buy for themselves. You could also monogram a nice leather dopp kit to fill with fun things they will use on the wedding day (think – booze, lint roller, mints, etc.).
Give your guys something they will use after the wedding: a book that you think they will love to read, a beer brewing kit, or tickets to see their favorite band!
Give your wedding party gifts or experiences that you know they will love, and they will feel your appreciation on the wedding day. Your gestures of gratitude will show them how much their commitment means to you as you embark on the next chapter of your lives.
